Canmore Engine Bridge
Step back in time to 1891, when the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) was thriving and Canmore was buzzing with coal mining activity. To support this booming industry, CPR built what would become the Canmore Engine Bridge. Originally constructed with wooden trusses, the bridge was significantly transformed in 1919 when an older structure, dating back to around 1880, was relocated and adapted as the new bridge. Its fascinating history adds to its charm, making it a must-see landmark. The bridge is easily accessible as part of the Bow River Loop Trail, just a short walk from downtown Canmore.
